Amelia Farrugia was born in Victoria in 1977 and has lived in Queensland since she
was 2 years old. From a young age, through her school years, a natural artistic talent
was evident. This talent has continued to flourish, and became her passion. A passion
that has lead her to become a very innovative, exciting and in demand young artist
in Australia today.
Amelia excels in a range of styles. From super real, larger than life flower and plant
studies to subdued, abstract landscapes and seascapes. However, the style that is
arguably Amelia's most popular is her richly textured, multi layered approach to pure
abstracts. Nature itself is Amelia's overriding influence, with both it's beauty and
harshness evident in her works. She combines these colours, textures and forms with
strong lineal and geometric patterns. Add to this bold swathes of red and gold, and
it makes for very dynamic and visually engaging artworks. These highly emotive works
have proven incredibly popular with both Australian and international clients.
Amelia's love of painting and nature means she pours her heart and soul into every
piece created. "I love to design, paint and create anything. I derive great pleasure
and fulfilment from turning an idea into a finished product. I strive to make my work
original and exciting so as to have an emotional impact on the viewer, surprise them,
delight them, make the painting memorable so that the audience are curious and
want to look at it, touch it, keep it. I want people to be as passionate about what I
do as I am". |
